Prepare for the Season of Dawn on December 10, as the fantastical storyline of Destiny 2 brings together Osiris and Saint-14.
As everyone and their dog seem to be celebrating the return of the Halo franchise on PC, other games continue to churn out new and original content to keep us engaged. In fact, Destiny 2 is not far removed from Halo— given their developers, themes, and focus on tight first-person gunplay.
The upcoming season’s trailer follows the events of the current season, in which the Red Legion is trying to salvage its defeat in the Red War campaign through only means possible — correcting the timeline so that their epic failure never occurs in the first place. In turn, Osiris will have to make sure Red Legion’s time exploit attempt fails, ‘resurrecting’ Saìnt-14 in the process.
The time-themed storyline continues to new gameplay, as well, with a new six-player game mode called Sundial.
Sundial will have your team defend against waves of Cabal attackers. As is a tradition with new seasons, this will give you an opportunity to acquire new guns in Destiny 2 by completing Timelost weapon frames.
Keep in mind, though, that only players who have a season pass will be able to obtain these new weapons. If you don’t hold a season pass, you will still be able to get new seasonal artifacts like the Lantern of Osiris.
As for the rest of the Destiny 2 Season of Dawn unlocks, there are:
- Seasonal armor sets and cosmetics.
- New Exotic quests.
- Symmetry, the new Exotic sniper rifle.
- New bounties and triumphs.
- New Osiris quest that will have you restoring Obelisks, jumping to four planets.
- A return of the Rusted Land PvP map from Destiny 1.
Even if you don’t have access to the season pass, Righteous seasonal armor will be obtainable, as well as Symmetry, which is auto-unlocked for pass holders.
The Destiny 2 Season of Dawn will run its course from December 10 to March 9.
