While not every sale in the PlayStation Store is noteworthy, this one is particularly mentioning — given that the game scores very highly among both critics and users. According to the reviews aggregator Metacritic, Injustice 2 has an aggregated Metascore of 87 on the PlayStation 4 to go alongside a User Score of 8.1.
The latest offering in the Injustice series follows 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Us and is superior to its predecessor. Both critics and users agree with this sentiment, as the previous installment carries a Metascore of 80 and a User Score of 7.2.
The game was the ninth-best PlayStation 4 game the year it was released, according to Metacritic, and critics praised its balance, extensive roster of characters, accessibility for those not necessarily deeply interested in fighting games, content, background stories, visuals, satisfying single-player gameplay, and total package.
Injustice 2 is currently $29.99 in the U.S. PlayStation Store — down from its usual $59.99.
In other countries where the discount is offered, it may be an even better deal. In Hungary, for instance, the game is offered at a 58 percent discount.
According to the European PlayStation Store, NetherRealm Studios’ fighting game is discounted until September 5, 2019. It first went on sale three days ago, on August 21, 2019.
