Are you hungering for more experience points in Rocket League? Well, prepare to be satiated. Psyonix’ vehicular soccer video game is hosting a Double XP Weekend — or, rather, extended weekend — starting today.

Rocket League is hosting a Double XP Weekend that starts today, July 18. It will run until Monday, July 22. The exact start times are:

  • Start: Thursday, July 18 at 2 p.m. PDT / 9 p.m. UTC
  • End: Monday, July 22 at 10 a.m. PDT / 4 p.m. UTC

During the Rocket League Double XP Weekend, players have the opportunity to earn twice the amount of base experience points in the following Playlists:

  • Casual
  • Competitive
  • Extra
  • Spike Rush

After the Double XP Weekend ends, Rocket League fans can look forward to the third phase of the game’s ongoing ’80s-themed Radical Summer event — which brings with it a new Knight Rider DLC pack, a new limited game mode, and new items. As Joystickr reported, the Radical Summer event will launch on July 22 and 10 AM PDT. It will end on August 12, at which point the game will revert back to its standard state.

Rocket League also made the news recently when the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) hosted a tournament for Congresspeople in the United States. Participants included New York’s Hakeem Jeffries, Texas’ Marc Veasey, California’s Katie Hill, California’s Jimmy Gomez, and Florida’s Stephanie Murphy.

The ESA scheduled the event with the help of the Future Forum caucus ahead of incoming loot box legislation. The goal was to help the participating politicians understand the video games they seek to regulate a little better.

Will you play this weekend and take advantage of the game’s Double XP Weekend? What do you think of the game’s Radical Summer event? Are you surprised that the ESA had politicians play the popular vehicular soccer game? Let us know in the comments below!
