Following in the footsteps of some of its predecessors, Tropico 6 will be coming to consoles after releasing on PC earlier this year.
Society building and management games have a tradition of PC exclusivity, but Tropico 6 penetrates that barrier.
Ever since its first release in 2001, Tropico has accrued a loyal player base of wannabe island dictators. Although the Tropico franchise had some hits and misses, it not only retained the initial player base but it grew steadily into its sixth iteration — which was released on PC on March 29, 2019.
Now, Tropico 6 is heading for a long-anticipated console release.

Happy owners of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles will get to enjoy the best Tropico version yet. Players will not only get the best visuals of the Tropico franchise, an intuitive interface, and expanded political options, but they will also be able to customize the appearance of their El Presidente — including his/her palace.
Moreover, Tropico 6 doesn’t confine itself to a single island like its predecessors. This time, you can spread your dictatorial paradise across an archipelago of islands connected by bridges — which you will have to build. Your citizens will be more of a handful to manage, as well.
We at Joystickr put in many hours on the PlayStation 4 version of Tropico 5, which we found to be a delightful game. However, we experienced a bit of a sudden difficulty spike approximately 10+ hours into the campaign. No matter how many times we restarted and took a different strategy, we found it hard to overcome.
Currently, Tropico 6 settled to a Metascore of 78% on popular reviews aggregator Metacritic. It has a User Score of 6.8. Console owners can find out why many people liked it on September 27, when it is released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
