Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 8.

The official release date via the official Nintendo eShop, which has listed the title as releasing on October 8 of this year.

The first Yooka-Laylee title was well-received as a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, a 3D platforming video game developed by Rare and released originally on the Nintendo 64 more than two decades ago.

Playtonic Games’ title carries a green-boxed Metascore of 75 on popular reviews aggregator Metacritic, alongside a 7.4 User Score. The scores for the Nintendo Switch version of the game are higher than those for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Unlike the first title in the series, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be a throwback to old-school 2D platformers, like the Donkey Kong Country series.
